>>49971661I genuinely believe their non-Pokémon projects are more indicative of their actual "talent": a mixed bag. Some games are forgotten but well regarded (Drilldozer), some are pretty decent but basically no one knows about them (HarmoKnight, Tembo to a degree), some are known but panned (Little Town Hero). Pokémon has historically just been their lucky break. I think it may also genuinely be due to the "small" part of the "smaru indie company" meme, they have a surprisingly small team for the size of their brand. They're actively hiring, but either not enough people are applying, or they're not hiring as much as they should be.
