I like the concept since it would (in the past gens) prepare you for thinking of chained battles like in the Battle Tower. The only propblem is that I can see it being abused to grind levels and money. Trainer battles give you way more EXP than wild pokemon, who always seems excessively underpowered for grinding. Like NES Draqon Quest 1 levels of low exp.

Because the nature of pokemon requires that one party member takes damage and unless you are using walls or 4x resists you’d die even if you are playing well. In the modern games with exp share and candies this could work but even then the solution to the problem becomes “use a team full of the type with an advantage”. If the gyms aren’t monotype then preparing would be too tedious.

These games are designed for kids first, and then the sweaty compfags. You're complaining about the difficulty when it's tuned to a demographic you're not in.

What if they only give you money the first time you beat them ? As for exp, it's not a problem, if someone wants to grind, he would have grinded in the tall grasses anyway

How many times do I have to explain this. It's designed for Japanese kids, which is the equivalent of Western adults. Japs are way better at games and art at early ages.
Even so, in the west, the ones playing Pokemon games and the ones with the money to buy them ar all in their 20s. GameFreak and Nintendo of America not realising that is their biggest mistake and leaving money on the table.
Finally, kids don't even like Pokemon anymore. My nephews would rather play Fortnite and DBZ fighting games and find Pokemon to be boring.
Unless you're saying Pokemon is meant for barely literate babies, this "Pokemon is for kids" argument is utter shit from every perspective.
