>>49982756I've been replaying X over and over for the past year and I can attest to its flaws. XY's main problem is how it treats the player.
Super Training allows you to freely manipulate the EVs of your Pokemon at will, what would've been a great postgame addition is given to you before you even get your starter along with
Pokemon Amie isn't forced, but there's no reason for you to not do it, especially since Amie is actually a fun way to interact with your Pokemon, feeding and petting them doesn't sound like much but I've admittedly spent more than a fair share of time on it due to the simple appeal of petting a Legendary that will live 10 times longer than I will. Taking good care of your Pokemon makes XY even easier, Pokemon affected by Amie will essentially get the combined effects of Shed Skin, the Scope Lens and the Focus Band, they also stack with those by the way.
The new Exp. Share is memed for good reason, what once evenly split the Exp. gained by the Pokemon battling and the Pokemon holding the item is now a Key Item that affects the entire party, the Pokemon battling sees no drop in Exp. when the item is active and the rest of the party gets 50% of what they would've gotten if they were the one battling. Yes, this stacks with the Lucky Egg and
O-Powers are Battle Items that you can use before a battle except there are more of them that do more things, they can be leveled up to magnify their effects and you can give them to other players. Exp. Point Power is given to you midway through your playthrough and it stacks with the Lucky Egg.
All the gift Pokemon trivialize the game with the exception of worse Meganium, even then you don't have to pick it because Tyrunt exists. You can get Snorlax before Grant.
Only 4 NPCs use Mega Evolution.
Finally, Champion Diantha and postgame rival are the only NPC battles in the entire game to use full teams against the player.
tldr: Fixing XY's difficulty requires much more than just making the NPCs stronger.
