>>49985504Gen 1 - 8 years old (Gameboy, Blue Gameboy Pocket)
>BlueGot it for Christmas (1998), replayed over and over, traded with friends, the whole shebang. Created my preference for the Blue versions of games. Used all the starters at some point so I no longer remember which I chose first. Learned the trading glitch to duplicate Pokemon, chased Mew rumors, etc.
>YellowGot it later as a gift, didn't care for all the Pikachu stuff so never finished it.
>PinballCousin had it and let me play it, kino spin-off.
Also started to collect holographic cards, posters, toys, cut-outs from the back of Pokemon Lunchables, whatever. Watched the anime, drew Pokemon in art class. Pokemania. I even got imported figures of Ash, Misty, Jessie and James while on vacation at the beach.
Gen 2 - 10 years old (Gameboy Pocket, Teal Gameboy Color + Worm Light)
>SilverA new generation of Pokemon? I'm in. Don't remember which starter anymore, I think it was Cyndaquil. Got my first Gameshark and got everyone at school the uncatchable stuff. Continued watching the anime and collecting, going on adventures with friends (back when we played outside).
Gen 3 - 13 years old (Indigo/Red Target GBA, Onyx GBA SP, Graphite GBA SP)
>SapphireGot as a birthday present. Mania died down a bit but I still had a core group of friends that played. Sapphire is probably my favorite game to this day, started with Treecko, replayed with everything. Still have the strategy guide on my bookshelf and flip through it sometimes.
>EmeraldProbably my most played Pokemon game- I still play romhacks built off of it.
>Pinball Ruby and SapphireFavorite spin-off, still play it once in a while.
Gen 3 is probably my favorite generation overall, even if some other gens have nicer mechanics or equally good Pokedexs. I used to play the game at night, then turn off the screen light and leave it on at Verdanturf town to fall asleep to the music.
