PLA is the good game he made, though-- and in his defense for the shit one, Sun and Moon were pretty unsalvageable to begin with.

Just because you like Visual Novels it doesn't mean that the people who like JRPGs deserve to have you conflate the two in every thread.
PLA is a JRPG. SM-SWSH are visual novels.

This statement is offensive towards visual novels and visual novel fans such as myself.
Visual novels are literally built around the story. They HAVE to be interesting to read or they fail at their most basic premise. The games you listed didn't have a story at all.

It still has the regular battle system if you want to play that way. The game is more of a collectathon stealth game rather than a 8 gyms and stop the evil team game. It's the most fun I've had with pokemon in a long time.
