When you were playing this game on the Game Boy, you couldn't tell it was a Clefairy then either, it just looked like a maze.

Pretty much. As much as I’d simp for 2d Pokémon zoomed out motif maps isn’t really valid. It was neat when NES games would do this though. Especially for games that wouldn’t show up in mags or strategy guides. Most of the time you wouldn’t even notice it but it’s really cool when it gets pointed out to you.
I love classic game devs. They were true artists in that way.

Besides, it's not like it matters. Whitney's theme is cute shit and type doesn't always equate to theme.

It’s not random. Clefairy is a fucking popular Pokémon in universe and Whitney is a popularity chaser. It’s likely as popular as it is BECAUSE it’s rare, one of those things where everyone wants to have one, like pikachu, but only some can get one. Whitney is likely a privileged city bitch who had her family take her to Mt Moon to get one or something.

if it was now, itd have intimidate, which would weaken any fighting mons you have in for miltank.
and stantlers moveset has all kinds of weird status effects
>confuse ray
>hypnosis
>dream eater
>sand attack
etc

as it is now, the clefairy either gets a like 1/200 chance to actually do any real damage to you, dies, then the battle is just you vs miltank
with stantler as lead thatd be way less clear-cut imo
plus, idk, it wouldve been nice to see more gen 2 mons in gen 2 gyms

Whitney, Pryce, Jasmine, and Claire are the only ones with Johto pokemon for aces. Of those, Jasmine and Claire's aces evolve from a Kanto mon, leaving Pryce and Whitney as the most "Johto" leaders of the region.

Whitney defentily makes more sense to be a Fairy type trainer.

Should make a Alternative Fariy-type Miltank be her ace since it is to iconic to remove compleatly. Also give her a granbull and a togetic since they really feel like pokes she would find cute.

He's referring to the typing you retard. Clefairy as the main design of the Normal gym just doesn't fly because Clefairy is a fucking fairy now. I mean, I guess Flint's DP team wasn't very fire themed, but fairy type most certainly fucks with her gym and how you go about defeating it.

Easy fix: Make a Johtonian Clefairy that's Normal-type and have the gym redesigned around that. Works since Clefairy can only be caught in Johto at the Safari Zone in HGSS.
