The main issue i have with Max is less the mechanic it self and more how it cucks a lot of animations and the Pokemon themselves take fucking ages to do wiggle animations for their own moves, But i do like the way Gym Battles used them to actually make Ace Pokemon stand out, and Shield Cucking aside they were a nice way to have Boss Pokemon in the Raids and that everyone can use it is a definitive plus, yes stuff like Dynamax Blipbug is silly, but if someone wanna use it they can do it, That you also only have limited opportunities to do it in the story made it feel better then pressing the Mega button at the start of every battle in GenVI, Another factor is that a lot of Gigan forms are letdowns as the new move end up being worse then that of the standard Max Move.
The issue with Mega is restriction, not that many mons get them and if you wanna use "shit" mons you don't get to engage in mechanics, the mechanic can be used to boost "Shitmons" and they did do that for a few of them, but that was still up to game freaks discretion.
Z-Moves are pretty simple, Status moves are fun and made Set-up more interesting and potentially faster and made a lot of gimmick moves much more usable by making them double as set-up or healing (IE. Conversion), but the majority of people just used it for "LOL 200+ BP ATTACK", honestly if they removed or nerfed Attack component it would be the best one.
Styles are the best ones in my opinion, very simple to use and it makes PP management a bit more important since 5 PP is still only 3 Style moves and 10 PP is just 5 Style moves, that actually has a nice effect of buffing weaker moves with a lot of PP early on, which is nice if you are fighting a lot for Dex Tasks and don't wanna ether every other battle, I feel like it plays in a lot into the PLA system changes though and i don't think it would necessarily translate well into the classic battle system (And i know Compfags hate the PLA system).
