I'd like to rant about how Pokeballs are the greatest, classic, and most aesthetically designed video game items. They're so simple, yet so appealing to look at
>the perfect palm fit that they all have, resting neatly in the character's hand
>the shift in size from belt-size to throwing-size
>the little gleam on the top of the ball, to suggest a pleasingly smooth metal surface, allowing one to imagine the cool feel of a fresh pokeball in the hand
>the subtle (or not-so-subtle) surface modifications to suggest what that ball is for, and to allow for a bit of expression of personality for both the trainer and the pokemon
>the slight texture added by the line and button around the hemisphere of the Pokeball, allowing one to imagine how it would feel to rest the thumb and middle finger in the groove, and the index finger on the top, before throwing a perfect knuckleball at your quarry
They're really almost like watches, except for fictional characters in a children's game/show. If Pokemon and Pokeballs were real, I could easily imagine seeing luxury Pokeballs in jewelry stores, with society's well-to-do folk selecting the perfect piece to compliment their outfit, to show the power of their Pokemon, and to signal their status to the rest of the world.
