Pokemon are known to adapt over generations via natural selection, this is how regional variants exist. That is evolution.

Thats fucking hysterical, humans likely evolved from pokemon, and over time they either evolved to be the first intellegent species of non-legendary pokemon and thus able to capture pokemon, which made their own abilities obsolete and lead to them no longer having any special abilities, and any future pokemon which would evolved intellegence would do so after humans, thus they, like all pokemon, would not evolve to lose their powers as humans already fill the niche of being a trainer. Or some event happened, pokeAdam and pokEve used to be pokemon, then girantina or arcaeus took away humans magical abilities when humans gained intellegence for some reason, maybe the humans made a deal and traded their powers for mor intellegence, or maybe we ate the borbidden berry
