One the one hand, breeding is a massive time sink.

On the other hand, mechanics closer to genning are lore-breaking and soulless.

I think the best compromise is to include straightforward and consistent ways to manipulate the breeding process to get exactly what you want, without bypassing the breeding process.

Easy to farm items you only need 10 of to max out one stat. No IVs or EV spreading to worry about and leaves you in total control. Still gotta worry about Nature though.

you going to say that despite the franchise beginning with themes of genetic modification and continuing it to this day w shit like type null? such a system would integrate flawlessly to the story and it wouldn't be hard at all, but they'd probably add a grindy currency to throttle it
