Figured i'd give you people a short storytime of a duckstory which parodies Pokemon.

I don't like the framing of the bullies stealing them, it had zero buildup. They should've established that they have rare cards before entering school(that the bullies wanted) and found out they were stolen after.

This is kind of like yugioh DM with pegasus
Also, an another dimension plot is very different to the comics I used to read as a kid(which were argentinian reprints, but not sure what era those were from because they didn't even list the writers/artists).

You gotta remember, in duck comics there's usually a limit for how many pages the story should have, so very often things are simplified for brevity

No, when I was a kid they reprinted older stories(before pokemania/pokemon), but I don't know what era those reprints were from.
But I meant that those were more grounded instead of having a portal to another dimension as part of the plot.

Right, we're halfway through, and i'm starting the second story now. Which is also just 14 pages.

Yeah, seeing how the first story ended with Dooley considering releasing them again, i guess the creators were planning to make a sequel
Considering what happens on this page though, i doubt this is the plot they originally planned

Latecomer to the thread, fun stories. Reminds me of the old comics my dad owned which I'd read during visits at my grandma's house.
Have there been any other stories aping pokemon in the Disney comics library or are these the only two?

I distinctly remember another Donald Duck story that was published in my country parodying pokemania in the early 2000s, but I can't remember anything else about it

But it seems that one was never released in english, so i've never read it.
There's a very miniscule chance someone's personally translated it and put it online somewhere, but i wouldn't have a clue how to find that.
