Gen 6 isn't bad, it's just underwhelming coming off of Gen 5 (B2W2). It's still better than Gens 7/8, and arguably 3.

Played Y recently and found it visually appealing yet underwhelming. Even though I loved certain places like Parfum Palace but the region as a whole felt monotonous, especially when I reached the the middle of Victory Road. I can't really pinpoint it, but it has the same problem as Sinnoh and Galar where I get easily bored whenever I go back to the region. The only saving grace is the numner of Pokemon on the routes.
