it's nothing like that actually. The only realy difference is you want the pencil nose. What you're doing is saying there isnt a dog pokemon yet because you specifically want a Dalmatian. Or there's no cat because you want a maine Coon. If you want a specific dolphin, then you need to specify because there are a lot of 'proper dolphins'

And yes I want a bottle nosed dolphin, because that's what people think of when they think of a dolphin, obviously. That's colloquial. If you asked somebody to name species of dolphin, only smartasses would say orca first. As far as I'm aware there isn't even a name in the lexicon for orcas that includes "dolphin". Kyogre is deliberately a "killer whale" or and "orca", not a "dolphin".

If you ask a random person on the street, most people do not know that orcas are dolphins. Common knowledge is more important than cladistic accuracy in public-facing products like pokemon. Therefor, kyogre is not a dolphin.

This is retarded. An orca is usually not referred to as the same as a dolphin in most context. When someone says dolphin, they mean bottlenose, like oceanic species, and river dolphins.

Also stop bringing up cats. It's not fair to compare a species that evolved naturally in the wild and one we bred to look drastically different from one another.
