detective pikachu really fucked up by blowing its entire load in one movie. The saturation of big events left none of them feeling as impactful as they should. the antagonists of the first movie should've just been Charizard and Greninja, they could've left dynamax pokemon for the 2nd movie, and have Mewtwo/Arceus for the 3rd movie.

normalfags will watch anything. The problem is pokemon randomly being big for one throwaday scene is just mindless spectacle which only serves to distract audiences from the actual plot. I get that this may be intentional since the plot was total garbage but it just emphasized this problem rather than remedying it.
