Zamazenta forever mogged by by his sister and canonically paired up with Hop, which means the Post-Game story is canonically the one he gets bullied by the Bogdanoffs, the guy has only been around by a few years but already suffered so much. To be fair most mid evo starters look retarded. Gen 1 and 2 were all decent, grovyle is probably my favorite but marshtomp looks absolutely retarded and combusken isnt much better. It just progressively got worse over time aside from the occasional frogadier or raboot.

Most people don't know this, but that "Clefairy was originally the mascot" quote is completely fake. It comes from a Becket Pokemon Collector article that worded things terribly (it said something to the effect of "the manga opted to use Clefairy as its mascot, but the anime went with Pikachu instead"). It's just some stupid shit that people have taken as fact for years without ever bothering to question where it came from.

Blue sold more then Red. It should've gotten the Charizard treatment as the fans made their choice. Instead executives already decided to push Charizard and so only the Char line got to have any shine in the anime and grow in popularity.
