Meanwhile Gen 7 suffered from an unremarkable mainline title and had the worst spinoff content of any generation since Gen 2.
I want to say something like 5 > 4 > 3 > 8 > 2 > 1 > 6 > 7 with the caveat that PokéPark and PMD absolutely saved some generations.
>>50069246Honestly you're right on the money. I only place Gen 8 in the upper echelon because it made so many QoL improvements like Mints and TRs. Also, PLA is a blast.
I want to rate Gen 2 higher, and I would if we were talking mainline titles alone, but as you noted the spinoff scene exploded starting in the very next generation after.
