I have THREE 3ds XL's
all of which are broken in some way
even my favorite one ive had since 2013
it's the blue limited edition one with Xerneas and Yveltal on the front

i know on ebay there are people doing some services, i had mine done through one. nice older guy who didn't charge me extra for water damage because i didn't lie about it kek. i don't know if he's still active but there are a handful of others anyway.
you should try it for at least one of your models if you're not sure.
