>R/S remakes
A fresh take on the story while keeping the gameplay layout the same so it doesnt feel too different, QoL changes are sprinkled throughout, some Emerald changes kept, graphics were acceptable on 3DS and the character felt smooth to control and run around with. no gamebreaking and minimal visual glitches that could be encountered in a normal playthrough. lots of memorable and dynamic poses for character during cutscenes
>d/p remakes
Straight lazy chibi shit handed off to some third party. no story changes, no Platinum QoL changes, nothing to help make EV training easier like SwSh introduced, no renaming trades like SwSh introduced, GTS was not available for months after release, an easily exploitable menu system that had them at their wits ends trying to fix for months, models that did nothing during cutscenes but make the odd facial gesture with maybe one or two of them actually posing, incorrect shading on battle intros, an inferior pokeradar, moving around feels off especially on a bike, and a dull battle background for online battles.
Sorry for the run on sentences, but I guess what im trying to say is WHY did they Gamefreak try so little on BDSP? I wanted it to be fresh and invigorating while staying close to its roots like ORAS but instead it was purposely bland and rushed. Remakes are eagerly awaited on by the Pokemon fanbase but this one is quite frankly such a step down from the last remake that im afraid of what the 5th gen one will look like. Will treatment like this be standard on remakes going forward?
