The problem for Unovan is that its learnset favors physical moves so you'd need to wait a bit for the TMs to get its best special moves, but also its only great physical STAB in gen 5 is Waterfall which is very late game, so you'd be stuck with Aqua Tail or Razor Shell for most of the game
