There was nothing broken.
Arceus preordained the events of the omniverse from the moment it was born, so it was able to seamlessly pull from a future that technically had not come to be yet.
For whatever reason, Arceus' Grand Plan deemed a stabilized timeloop necessary to uphold this Grand Plan, so that's what we got.
