Volo was a Zant, a useful idiot to be used as a pawn while the actual Big Bad, Giratina laid its plans. That the player not only put it into checkmate, it upended the board over it too was was forced it to abandon its plans, if Arceus' Champion could neuter it so completely and easily, what chance did it stand against its Creator?
