>>50121331If you want to do a living dex in gen 3, you need to either have:
- All 5 GBA games
OR
- Leaf Green, Emerald, Colosseum and XD
As mentioned earlier in the thread Leaf Green is required to get Slowpoke as it doesn't exist in the other games. All other version exclusives are obtainable in Colosseum/XD. A few other things to note:
- You'll need to play through Emerald fully twice, to catch both Latios and Latias ane to obtain both Hoenn fossils. You will also need to start the game at least 3 times to get all 3 Hoenn starters.
- You will also need to start Leaf Green 3 times to get all Kanto starters. You will also need to get as far as Cinnabar Island at least twice in order to revive the Kanto fossils
- If you're going for a living dex, you'll need to do a lot of breeding to get multiple of the special/gift Pokemon (starters, fossils, version exclusives that can only be caught as their evolved form like Arbok)
Honestly you're better off just completing the living dex in gen 6. Despite having more Pokemon, XY and ORAS have a massive Pokemon selection and you can catch most of them with just a one from each pair. Then you can use the GTS to trade for the version exclusives.
