Why do they get attached to what literally is data ?
You can write down on a piece of paper what pokemon it is its level and what moves you gave it.
And bam it can be recreated ! I mean you can restart the game and get a new Blastoise ... how will it be different from the one you got before ?
Most children get sad when their toy breaks because
A) Parents often will not spend money to replace the toy since it costs $$$
B) They toy can not be available to buy or cost more
ス) Possibly there can be some uniqueness to the toy like scratch makes created during play however ignore this point.
However it is literally data so point ス literally does not apply ! And even if you do not have cheating devices you can simply RESTART THE GAME ! Imagine being like this as a GROWN ASS ADULT !
