>>50152885>>50152906OG anon here. These didn't give me a visceral whiplash as severe as the Fire Starter one, but yeah, it's not pretty to have less to campare them to.
Now that i look at it, Water is kinda experimental overall both to its benefit and detriment. I used to love Blastoise 2 decades ago, but every year that passes i like it less and less. I much prefer the fluffy Wartortle-like beta evo and its fanart than the laughably inorganic cannons we ended up getting. Gatr's neat, but Swampert takes the water crown for sure. Beastly and cool with a unique animal basis and inspired design. Emp is a bit more overdesigned than i remember, but it's still neat overall. Fuck Unova for making 5 fucking swordsman Pokemon in a single Gen and making them all quadrupedal. Greninja is actually pretty good. One of the few times when an outlandish design quirk actually fits the design and makes it better for it. Prim is too much, full-blown pearl beads and starfish decorations make it feel too unnatural and humanlike. I'm conflicted on Inteleon. I want to hate it, but my sister has actual pet Basilisks and Iguanas and she made me realize it's anatomy isn't as far off as i thought. It also handles fake "clothes" much more succintly than say Empoleon or Cinderace with their overly detailed patterns and flares.
Grass is pretty great. Venusaur is awesome for the same reasons Swampert is. Mega is opposite Primarina, where it's just boring instead. I realized i find Sceptile's torso lines jarring, but it's still good overall. Torterra is great. Serp is meh. I have no idea what to think about Chesnaught. Deci is like Greninja but with more lean towards the stereotypically cool, so not as appealing, but still neat. Rilla is bland on its own, but the magic drum is retarded.
Water is prob a 7.5/10. Grass is at least an 8/10. Fire is probably a 4 or even 3/10 in retrospect. Nearly all blatant furshit is in the Fire section and Charizard doesn't come close to redeeming that shit.
