>Chase cards>Print numbers>Sales numbersThe intersection of all of these determine value. The more chase cards in a set, and the more of those chase cards are unique or desirable or pander to nostalgia/coolness increase demand. The lower the print number, the less the supply. The lower the sales number, the lower the secondary market supply.
Sales numbers can be read both ways. Low sales means that no one wants it or that no one bought it for other reasons. Fusion strike is a good example of this. It will likely be a wanted set due to the chase cards within it, but was purchase in low amounts because people were fatigued with buying at the time and it was released at an awful time among other sets/holidays. So perhaps no one will ever want it, and that's why sales were low. Or perhaps people will want it, but just didn't buy it while supply was available because they were recovering from evolving skies and celebrations and saving for brilliant stars.
