You can use megas in the story in XY so I think this is referring to Alola, but I don't know why you'd want to use megas there.

For what purpose? Using megas ingame is detrimental anyway since you need to sit through the animation every time in a battle you would have won anyway

Because SINNOOOOOH, except that Sinnoh still holds up to this day as the best pokemon region but anyone who denies it has glaring flaws is a tard blinded by nostalgia, flaws which by the way, BDSP didn't fix and sometimes didn't even attempted to address.
