Learn to love the taste of sparkling water if you're a soda addict, learn to appreciate black coffee without making it into a fucking Starbucks milkshake. You don't have to stop doing those things altogether but designate a day you can have them, setting limits helps you appreciate treats more. Also try to compartmentalize food from feelings or keep you "rewards" limited to your cheat days, even if something really good happens, it's best to practice delayed gratification. Lord knows I had one too many victory pizzas in my heavier 310-lbs days.
And yes, whatever kind of exercise will make you sweat or feel painful after a long session will do you good. Don't just cope with some easy task that technically counts as exercise or losing calories, you wanna do something that builds a stronger you, whether it's more stamina, being faster or being able to lift and carry more. Consider ordering weights, finding a place to take a long walk assuming you doing have to worry about stray dogs, bullets and mountain lions, something you can do reliably every 3-4 days a week or at least once or twice a week to start. Doesn't have to be a gym membership, just something you can maintain reliably and not just do on a whim.
