Not a scaley or whatever, but for some reason it's absolutely more fitting for reptiles/amphibians to have those elemental powers. Mammals just don't seem as fitting shooting fire/water out of their mouths than a cool lizard or frog or whatever.

Primarina is objectively the best Water type starter f the series, Venusaur s likely best Grass type and probably Incineroar is best Fire type (though I'm unsure how objective the Fire choice is, that's usually my default starter pick, only broken by Primarina to-date).

as many have said, zard has been done dirty by all the pandering. liking him is a deathtrap because charizard pandering killed the franchise, though it isnt his fault. zard, typhlosion, blaziken, and infernape are all acceptable, though i personally vibe with incelroar

Yeah, 'Roar's likely the best Fire starter in the series, as it's clearly the outright best when compared to its peers, save maybe Libero Cinderace, which is kinda cheating as non-HA 'Roar was still a VGC threat while Blaze Cinderace has no such claim.

LMAO nigga in which kind of reality do you live in? Not once I've seen anyone remember Frogadier, he's completely overshadowed by the rest of the line and no one seems to care for it. Wartortle is extremely popular and some people prefer its design over Blastoise, same thing for Dewott over Samurott, and Croconaw and Marshtomp still get remembered and discussed occasionally. But Frogadier? I have irl friends into pokemon and they never gave a shit about it, and neither did /vp/. If you like it it's fine but stop pretending it would be anywhere in starter popularity polls except the bottom.

I appreciate emboar being bipedal, it always gave me demon pig king vibes. Honestly their main problem is so many of these starters pokemon start as bipeds and quadrupeds and don't stay that way at the end which just kills that appreciation of them more than the design itself warrants.
