desu i think the only reason why humans still have a society in the pokemon world is because alot of pokemon that look like humans felt sorry for them and decided to help them out.
thats a better explanation than what the franchise can muster up. pokemon has an inconsistent laws

in 'horse destroys the universe' scientists are adding to the processing power of a horse but discuss whether this will not make it 'smarter' but just 'more horse', as in better at selecting plants to eat, better at managing the social dynamics of a herd. if you give a chess computer more processing power it does not go HAL, it just becomes better at chess. if you give a pokemon 10,000 IQ it does not necessarily suddenly desire dominion over mankind and want to spend its days documenting the chemical makeup of the universe, it may just become extremely adept at interpreting the will of a human master and predicting the reactions of opponents in battle.

Unfortunately despite pokedex entries describing some pokemon to have high intelligence (higher than a human)... we dont get to see this in action barely at all. Lucario Malamar and Zorua are some exceptions that come to mind but we've yet to see Abra's line, the most hyped line of all for intelligence, actually display it

There are so many inconsistencies in pokemon that arguing over trivial descriptions like a pokedex entry is pointless. Personally I just leave all unanswered questions to my own interpretation and head canon, a very stress free way of thinking i guess

This mogs the abilities of every other existing species, so suddenly hunting down larger animals becomes a viable survival option and is why we're now all sat here on our computers arguing about which batch of fictional drawings is the best/worst.
