After Platinum I got hesitant to play third versions because why buy the same shit game again?

I already played Sun so if it's not significantly changed like people say BW2 is I dunno if I'll prioritize it. Plus I can emulate BW2 comfortably on mobile.

They're not really worth it anon.

If you REALLY liked the Gen 5 designs and they were your most favouritest ever, then sure, give it a go.

But if you were indifferent, don't bother - BW2 like its predecessors is filled to the brim with roadblocks that stop you from exploring properly. There's no sense of player agency and if you don't have the town's Gym badge, something or someone will stop you from moving further. It's a bit like Glorified Hallway: The Region.

Strictly SM.
Gen 7 is story-driven, and USUM completely guts the story to shoehorn in Ultra Necrozma and some other okay-ish bullshit that isn't relevant until postgame.
SM is a somewhat coherent package whose story content can be enjoyed. USUM is a marginally bigger frankensteinian package that's splitting at the seams.

Also, as others have stated, B2W2 is pretty rad. It's the least third-versionesque of them all.

you didn't like the gen 5 designs? unlucky, but the regional dex now has 300 pokemon, so you'll definitely find someone you like.
Also there are new areas, a new story, new characters, and a whole lot of QoL and enhancements, even graphically when compared to BW
