You know, something about XY's engine makes the routes seem complex, but if you look at these for more than two seconds you realize where you can actually walk and realize XY's routes are incredibly simplistic.

Yes, because it's consistent for most of the game. And when it wants to build up to something, like after the 7th gym, it will change the pacing to build that thing up.
