I'm not gonna start liking Decidueye because it has a hat, I am not going to start liking Typhlosion because it has neon spaghetti shooting out of it's neck and Samurott has bigger problems than the shape of his moustache.

Ultimately, I am not going to pretend I like those shitters because your internet bros told you the game is cool. PLA new designs were mostly shit.

Samurott and typhlosion were subtle changes but enough to warrant a hisuian form. Decidueye however looks like a skull kid that got bullied out of the lost woods playground and stumbled into the pokemon universe on accident

Hisuian Samurott is amazing.
Hisuian Typhlosion is interesting.
Hisuian Decidueye is whatever.
So I call that an overall successful set.
I don't think any are outright bad like in Gens 5 and 7.

That doesn’t make it humanoid though. Temperament=/=Humanoid. Most Pokémon (at least these starters) have a main personality, but only later ones trying to be humanoid.
Also, it’s not depressed, it’s supposed to be calm/zen like a monk to contrast with the original being explosive and angry.

I thought that Hisuian forms were a way to make mons that didn't stick before better now like giving Goodra a steel type etc.
Similarly I thought they'd fix Decidueye's "Alola so slow" problem.
THEY LITERALLY MADE IT SLOWER

While the loss of speed sucks it's signature move is still pretty good. If SV gives it the best moves from the Alola counterpart(Knock Off, Swords Dance, Sucker Punch, U-Turn, etc) there would be lots of room for potential
