It's got a lot of design decisions that really make you scratch your head, it feels like the game is very experimental in light of them the team running out of ideas.
Good game overall but thinking back maybe there is a reason I never went back to replay Super despite doing so a few times for the previous three games.

It's... okay.
The second half of the story is haphazardly copypasted from Gates to Infinity, and so is much of the soundtrack.
It's also blemished by a finite number of missions and the halfhearted lip service it pays to past titles.
The gameplay itself is fun, but its only big advantage over Gates is the complete dex through Gen 6.
