Unfortunately I agree. I started a replay back in January and still haven't even gotten to the Necrozma fight. Every time I pick it up I'll do a few battles and then I'll get like two or three cutscenes that take like two or three minutes each and I'll just get bored and do something else.

The Ultra Recon Squad, Totem changes and increased distribution got me interested until I ran until trouble fucking getting Pokemon I wanted like Bounsweet without breeding for no reason, ONLY this one can't be caught in the wild because of near extinction, by the way, Inshiteroar being the final reveal for SSBU after deconfirming so many other better choices and finding out Lusamine along with her kids' motivations were ruined for no fucking reason instead of just throwing Necrozma in for a twist while leaving everything intact.

I don't think anyone could make a genuine argument that USUM is worse than SM. The only genuine point that could be made is how Lusamine's character was changed, but I can't see how that one small thing outweighs:

Gen 6 is notoriously easy, but ironically has much more tolerable tutorials than this type of shit which is all over Alola. Complete deflates my motivation to play. XY has a-lot of space between [most] Gyms where you're free to breathe, and the encounter tables make Kalos fun to explore on repeat. ORAS is a much more engaging "island adventure", with way more room to explore using Hoenn as a base. Also has the DexNav which is a much menu better system than Rotom Dex telling me nothing of value for 40 hours.

Gen 6 and 7 have almost the exact same number of tutorials, 6 just spreads them out more. Even as far as gym 3 in XY you have things like the entire mega evolution sidequest that exist solely to reach you game mechanics. By that point in SM you've learned basically everything and have mainly story cutscenes, which are present in every game since gen 3.
