I was actually surprised by gen 8(raid battles specifically were super fun eith friends) and PLA was really solid. Ill give gen 9 a try but its probably my last attempt with this franchise if it ends up being dogshit and ill just stick with romhacks

Gen 8 was quite disappointing in a lot of aspects. But the multiplayer functions with friends were a blast. Also a lot of waifu designs i liked

Oh yeah the campaign was one of the worst things id ever played and i might not have finished it if it wasnt for being drunk with my friends and just treating it like an AVGN episode. But somehow we all just managed to power through and end up having a blast which i guess is kinda what happened with pokemon in the first place in red/blue.

Like this for instance, its a cute little picture but its mostly lazy. If youre going to go out of your way to make oddish a pot plant just add the extra couple leaves on its head. Hell maybe make the bong pack look like luminous moss or something too idk. Its overall just lazy like a stoner and fits the stereotype 100%

I'll give it a chance, but after Gen 8, I have no faith in GameFreak. They've steadily gone downhill after Gen 5, and Gen 8 was the first one I didn't enjoy at all. PLA was a big disappointment, and I'm afraid that's gonna more or less be the new direction from now on.

(I actually started learning about how to make romhacks because I feel like the only way to see a good Pokémon game at this point is to make it yourself.)

Gen 7 and 8 were both more fun than Gen 5 for me. Dunno why. I've played since Red Blue and those are the first time I enjoyed a game as much as I enjoyed them as a kid. So yeah I am confident Gen 9 will be fun too.
