almost forgot- bonus encounters for inserting FRLG/RSE into the second slot make dex completion easier, and are generally pretty cool features that I really wish I got to use (coming from someone who owns a flashcart and has been playing on it for 10+ years now)

I have a r4i 3DS flashcart that also works on the regular ds models
I think it can do all of that except you do need a legit gen 4 and 5 cart to trasnfer

So this means the best way to experience everything is:
- EZ Flash Omega DE
- DS Lite OR GBA (SP) + Dsi (XL)/(N)3DS(XL)
- DS Flashcart
- cheap gen 4 (probably pearl) and cheap gen 5 (probably white) carts for transferring

and yeah maybe, though my DsTWO can't do the wifi stuff or transfer (it can emulate GBA but not in-games, it can just emulate GBA games separately for DSi's) so I sort of thought it was a given

If you want it to be as "legitimate" as possible.
You could alternatively just get a single physical copy of gen 5 and drag everything over in PKHeX.

3DS games can get installed on a modded 3DS so thats no issue.
And those flashcarts can communicate with Gamecube and WIi no problem
