The Pokemon Brand no longer cares about the "core" games, those only still exist because they're GameFreak's only source of influence and power over the franchise (debuting new regions, characters, mechanics to make merchandise out of and most importantly the Pokemon themselves).

From first five generations It lacks Kecleon, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, Arceus, Zorua, Zoroark, Larvesta, Volcarona and Keldeo, which is why I can't get Hoenn platinum medal, Sinnoh platinum medal and Unova platinum medal to finally level up to 49 (I have 32 platinum medals of 35 needed)
Rotom (only Wash Rotom!) is hidden behind the paywall as well as Unown ? and Unown !
And even with already added to the game 737 Pokemon - not every one of them has every form added (remember - only Wash Rotom!), not every one of them has shiny coloration added
Despite having a ton of Pikachu suits, Squirtle in shades, halloween costumes etc. Pokemon GO didn't make Shadow Lugia and Shadow Mewtwo as they should be (don't get models from XD and Pokken)

Of course, Niantic slowly adding them - tomorrow shiny colorations of Cherubi and Cherrim will have their debut in Pokemon GO, at the same time as Oranguru (without its shiny however), and next saturday Stufful and Bewear will have their debut as featured Community Day pokemon.
But you should hold to your praise towards Pokemon GO for about three-four years more

Pokemon GO didn't have abilities and secondary effects of moves, so when they added Shedinja, players were very loudly upset it only has 1 HP and dies from anything (it doesn't have immunities provided by Wonder Armor). After that, Niantic probably afraid of backlash, so they took a centuries to add Smeargle (instead of Sketch allowing Smeargle to learn any move, Niantic made Smeargle to have moveset of the Pokemon you making snapshot).
So Kecleon is taking that long because of need to somehow implement Color Change, Arceus taking that long because of Multitype and Zorua/Zoroark taking that long because of Illusion.

I personally don't know why they didn't just copy Smeargle mechanic for Kecleon, Castform mechanic for Arceus and Ditto mechanic for Zorua. It'd be enough I think

Shedinja doesn’t have 1 HP, it has 10 as that is the minimum possible amount using GO’s stat calculation. But your point still stands. Wtf do you mean by Castform’s mechanic? They could easily just copy Furfrou’s form change button onto Arceus.

Furfrou was probably a test for future form change implementation. Keep in mind we still only have one rotom form, no shaymin, and no b/w kyurem.

That being said Arceus is a balance issue too. There's a few move combinations that make it the best non-mega attacker for multiple types. That eliminates the need to get anymore of that type permanently outside of shiny autism and dex filling. Niantic really doesn't want to powercreep anymore unless it's a shadow or community day move. We haven't gotten a serious upgrade since gible community day and that was after 10 months of complete garbage

You know how everybody have a warm memories about summer of 2016 Pokemon GO craze?
I didn't play at that time, because I haven't had a good enough phone (I bought my first smartphone on July 1st 2019) and also game didn't came out in my country until september 11, 2018.
But I've seen screenshots and heard stories about Pokemon GO state back in 2016 - broken GYM system, no battles, not even every generation I pokemon, limited and repetitive spawns, server stability problems...
Despite me wishing to have that incredible feeling of sharing a passion for Pokemon with hundreds and thousands of people at the same time, I'm happy I didn't play Pokemon GO back in 2016. I take current game state over its former broken self any time any day

It took them fuckin Furfrou (and Hoopa)to be released to make interchangable forms a thing but then they did not implement them on Deoxys, Giratina and Genesect. Groudon is still stuck with Earthquake, Rayquaza is almost as useless as it is in MSG, Landorus T was robbed its good moveset etc. Maybe we get Precipiece Blades and Origin Pulse in like 10 years from now.

The egg system is shit.
5 km and 10 km eggs have two different hatching pools depending on the source you get them (adventure sync rewards or pokestop spinning).
Eggs have both egg-exclusive pokemon and common wild spawn pokemon you can catch on the way from home to work.
Eggs can't be deleted and free spaces in egg storage can't be locked to save place for desired egg.
Incubators couldn't be received in any free way (aside from level-up rewards) - you can't receive an incubator from spinning pokestop, fulfilling field researches, opening gifts etc.
In order to make their "beloved playerbase" spend real money on incubators Niantic completely fucked up eggs. I fucking hate eggs in Pokemon GO.
Lately I was forced to hatch a ton of 12 km eggs (to get Salandit and Salazzle in my dex) - it was WORST TWO WEEKS IN MY LIFE

Controversial opinion - I think both Furfrou and Hoopa didn't need interchangeable forms in Pokemon GO. Niantic could easily made two different special researches for Confined and Unbound forms of Hoopa, and releasing all ten trims of Furfrou as regionals. It would save us a lot of candies and stardust. I hope White Kyurem and Black Kyurem, Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta will not be released as interchangeable forms

Remote raids should be encouraged because they are the most brainless part of the game.
Really cool thing that I have to drive up through some ultra dense city streets, wait for the spergs to arrive and then hear them sperg out about something Pokemon related. Of course, there are normal people too but all this hustle is not worth it for a 12/14/10 Tapu Bulu. Doing all this from my house is.
Go is fun when you are either with friends or alone and just walking around, not standing and waiting for people to then click down a raid boss.
