We have had to throw that away from the very beginning. Why do they work with trainers? To grow stronger, to stay out of the wild where they must fight for life. They actively choose to, you might even say they consent to, work with a trainer as a battling pokemon.
The trainer, like a personal trainer in a real life Earth human gym, works with their client to make them stronger, per their desires. They sign onto that. It's a common fetish for people to be fucked by their personal trainer, but, it is still possible to be raped by your personal trainer.
Pokemon can be raped and they can consent. As per any fantasy, we focus on the experiences where a Pokemon does consent. I rarely if ever see anyone creating Pokemon sexual fantasy content where rape is an aspect of the content.
Pokemon are not just animals. This has also been proven by the fact that there are actual animals in Pokemon that are not Pokemon. They don't get a lot of screen time because they're boring and not part of the show. I actually don't think I've seen it happen once since the first generation. But even if the other animals never existed in the Pokemon world, it would still be true that Pokemon choose to fight alongside their trainers. Pokemon are shown making many choices. The most famous of these is Ash's Pikachu refusing evolution. In instances where Ash has tried to get Pikachu to do something Pikachu didn't want to do, Pikachu has exerted his power over Ash by electrocuting him. That little mouse could fry Ash anytime he pleases, but he doesn't.
Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir can pick me up with Psychic and tear me in half or throw me across a football field. They are capable of self-defense in the event they are displeased.
