>>50228547>>50228568Most of Origins was based on Gen 1's mechanics, and in Gen 1, binding moves like Fire Spin prevented the target from attacking, so yeah, in Gen 1, Blastoise would have been unable to move and Charizard would have gotten to attack twice in a row, technically more since binding moves last 2-5 turns. And Origins Red used his starter far more than any of his other Pokemon, so it was likely massively overleveled
So Blastoise takes a Mega Punch, a Fire Spin, Fire Spin chip damage, and then a Fire Blast from a Charizard that significantly outlevels it, and only gets one it in itself? This battle is completely doable in game, though only in Gen 1
