Maybe to just make it stand out and be different from Stantler? Maybe to make the antlers resemble radio antennae. Maybe just for the sake of a symmetrical design, by making the "eyes" long like its beard, and the "eyelashes" spike out like its white fur. Maybe they are still meant to be eyes primarily, and the idea is to make them more angry compared to Stantler? Or its just a part of it being more of a caribou.
I can come up with plenty of probable reasons why like an autist. But now I like the idea that they are resembling the gold crosses and rings coming out of Arceus. Add to it that Wyrdeer and Arceus are white boot-toed quadrupeds, and I'm sold on it.
