Post-Pokemania though they deliberately go out of their way to make you hate Raichu by making it a dickhead or a beta bitch with rare examples of one a child would actually like. Even Alolan Raichu had to get the "better than you" rival archetype treatment despite how universally loved it was because GF and TPC didn't want it getting TOO big.
