The issue with 3D models was and is that they were made hastily by creatures, which has made shoddy models for Genius Sonority games before (yes the animations can be good with bad models). Gamefreak did the spritework in house so they had some level of QC on it, but they had no experience at all with 3D models minus some Genius Sonority imports like Turner. Thankfully PLA did change some models so there's hope they'll eventually fix all of them.

I don’t know if I buy that hastyness was at fault. Some models are so off model from the original art that it hard for me to not believe that the modelers didn’t change the designs on purpose.

Using the first image as an example… Silhouette and proportions are so off that any glance at your reference image would alert you of issues. Not only that but also all the issues with the model could be fixed in minutes even seconds: shorten and thin the torso; lengthen the neck; lengthen, thin, and raise the tail; and finally bend the knees more. I would even post a image of a corrected model if I wasn’t posting from my phone.

From a previous thread, through posing (albeit ones that go outside the range of motion the model was really designed for), you can get it looking a bit more like it should buy the differences in legs and back plate become obvious.
That being said with a decent pose the model is passable enough that haxorus ends up still looking decently cool.

The colors are based off the Sugimori art rather than the colors they appeared as in game. Sugimori had a fairly washed out looking style
