I agree with you that, in its current state, it's absolute garbage; however, it won't improve unless GameFreak either commits to forced EXP Share and balances the whole game around it, or just drops it entirely. I'd rather have the former, because NPCs using competitive EVs, held items and good moves is a better challenge than forcing yourself to be underleveled for your next opponent. I'd also appreciate it if they forced you to use the exact same number of Pokémon against your opponent in shit like Gym Battles, but that's probably too much to ask for.

Retarded sperglords like us are in the vast minority, and most people can't actually figure out how to beat an NPC without a massive advantage.
