"easy to raise" doesn't mean easy mode.
For one, it learns the first STAB move the slowest, and Squirtle already proved this meme wrong because Squirtle has the easiest time beating the game which is why it's the best pick for speedruns.

furries and americunts were just salty that shitmander was totally useless 90% of the time so they had to cope by saying Bulbasaur is easy mode just to feel good about themselves.
They were so fucking stupid that they still don't know that Brock has no rock moves to OHKO shitmander and that they can beat Brock by just spamming Ember since Onyx's Specials stats were trash

the reason why it's considered the best starter is because Bulbasaur allows you to get a balanced team the fastest+ being the best early grass type in the game + Toxic/Leech Glitch + Rock, Water and Ground being very common

tl;dr the difficulty thing is a meme, it's just about which starters allows you build a team the best which is what you are supposed to do.
Don't be like charizard autists who only uses charmander alone for the entire game then complain about brock

I remember a magazine guides telling you to pick Bulbasaur if you were new or afraid, and charmander if you wanted a challenge.

I think my issue with Chikorita is less I have to employ a strategy and more... there's fuck all he can actually do. Synthesis/Solarbeam/Sunny day? I tried to go with him the last time I played and I ended up boxing him in the mid 30s. I almost never box starters.

You don’t need vine whip, just use leech seed then use growl 6 times then spam tackle till you win. That’s what I do cause I rarely get bulba to 13 before brock

This thing has potentially the most raw utility out of any of the starters what are you talking about? It’s level up movepool in particular is super duper good for the early game where TMs are limited
