Sword and Shield were lazy cash grabs. Game Freak made genuine plans to implement a third version of X and Y. With Zygarde and Magearna being tied to Gen 6's plot.

There is zero indication Magearna was anything but a Gen 7 mythical, what the fuck are you on about? You could have mentioned the stubbed information on two Kalos games, or the obvious shit like Zygarde forms or not-Mega Greninja, but what the fuck does what you said even mean?

Gen 6's whole gimmick was alchemy. The ultimate weapon transferred life energy to create immortality and mega stones. While also indirectly creating honedge by trapping souls in weapons. Because the humans didn't become mega stones after being killed by the ultimate weapon. Diancie is one of the few pokemon that mega evolves naturally and is capable of producing crystals using alchemy. Which ties her to the ultimate weapons creation. Magearna is said to have a core made using a magic crystal called the soul heart. That crystal was said to be created by an alchemist.

I stopped playing SWSH right after beating the 1st gym and clearing what I could in Isle of Armor (getting Kubfu as well). Does it get better?

I am playing a hackrom so the campaign doesnt seem to be baby mode but I didnt felt any drive to keep playing

Dude, the DLC is the sequel. Even though it's charged for half the price, it only costs them a fraction of the planning (important) and effort to create. Kinda sad people pay for it, cause it convinces them that they don't have to release a whole game to get a shit ton of money
