The main problem with his team is that it feels so... bland. I don't mind giving Ash Dragonite, Lucario and Gengar, but giving him all three at the same time is just overkill. Lucario should have been caught by Ash in Sinnoh (maybe the writers didn't want to overshadow Infernape?), and Gengar should have been one of his Kanto mons.
Dracovish is such a random choice, but at the same time he seems to fit so well as an Ash Pokémon, that I wish the other team members were like this as well.
Also, the Pokémon types are a mess. I get the writers didn't wanna repeat the Electric + Water + Grass + Fire + Flying + _____ formula, but they ended up stacking his team with 2 dragons and 2 fighting-type mons. The result is that Lucario and Dragonite overshadow Sir and Dracovish.
