Would you actually use any Mythical Pokemon for a normal playthrough if you could?

Absolutely.
Used Celebi for the Kanto part of Crystal VC.
Used Mew, Jirachi and Manaphy for BD and Victini for a Black run.
They aren't designed for ingame so they don't get their best moves early which makes them fun.
Go allows you to get them at low game levels so I have a Darkrai, Deoxys and Gene ready, but haven't used them yet.

If I liked the Pokémon, it was available early in game and at a low level, yeah.

Used Celebi back when XY came out along with the event Torchic. Sadly had to box both because of how high level they got halfway through.

Maybe Victini but generally I try not to use Legendary/Mythical Pokémon

I sometimes do hacked runs just so that i can use a legendary/mythical as a part of my team from the beginning.

I used Victini in White, Mew in LGPE and Jirachi and Manaphy in BD, so yeah, if I get them low-level enough and before starting/during the early game of a playthrough, I'll stick 'em in my team to at least try them out.

Yeah, I've made legendaries my starters a couple times just so I could actually use them in a playthrough
They tend to have abhorrent learn sets so it's not too bad
