LGPE, ORAS and BDSP, all tried replicate to blocky geometry of the originals games in 3D, which is a bad look in many areas. XY is the only "top-down" game that manages to look nice, not because of fidelity but because of better direction. Environments look more organic, buildings are more detailed, etc.
