If this is true, then why does every transferred Pokémon from Let’s Go display their average size in the status screens of Sword/Shield? I completely get the sizes can’t be represented in the models themselves, and don’t expect them to be, but why can’t we see their heights in the status screen?

Because their's no display for an individual pokemon's height and weight, and it has no effect on the gameplay. The Height and values are only there for compatibility with the game that do use it.

He explains it, its kept in the data, its just not used in the models and thus, there's no point in showing it to the player.
You also don't see contests stats because contests aren't in swsh.

This is demonstrably not true. If you have a large Pikachu from Let’s Go, lets say, and transfer it to HOME, then into Sword, then BACK into HOME, that size data is lost and the Pokemon is now standard size. Please don’t spread misinfo nor trust Joe of all people

It is true for SWSH and BDSP, which is what he actually said in the Tweet if you'd learn to read.

For mons from LGPE. Which Joe only mentioned in the context of the sizes being shown in the game in question. The bit about the size values being maintained and potentially being visible in future games only mentioned SWSH and BDSP. Again, learn to read.

I did, and tagged all the dataminers as well, no ones answering. I even made another thread on /vp/ asking for someone with a hacked switch to help me research further but was called a retard. Realistically the only way to answer what happens to the sizes is

>Have one hacked switch and one normal
>Catch large/small lgpe charmander
>Put it into SWSH
>Put it back into HOME
>Then back into SWSH
>Trade it to hacked switch
>Record the height and weight values compared to a separate non lgpe charmander preferrable from swsh . If they aren’t zero, and they’re different from the standard pokemons size, that means they retain the original large/small value

Nigga, if it is from swsh then its the standard size already.

Also, I did test it and you're likely right anyways.
What I did
>take three chansey of different sizes from LG
>get them to home
>home displays the three different sizes
>get them to sword
>save in sword to make sure
>back to home
>now home displays the standard size for all three

step 3 proves the size is read directly from the data structure of the mon, so the size is deleted.

Is it possible the display checks whether the mon can access swsh or lgpe and displays the standard in the first case and the data one in the second? Yes, but it'd be kind of convoluted and pointless really.
The other possibility is that its not displayed because, as it can only get to swsh, there would be no point in it being, theoretically a different size. But again, that'd be pointless.

And no, you didn’t fully test it, since you need PKhex to check AFTER they were placed in HOME. Every single mon pre Lets Go will have a size value of 0 in both height and weight by default. The true test is to see if Lets Go mons transferred to Sword have zero or average values as opposed to large/small directly in pkhex

Yes, which is why I really wish kaphotics or someone who can test this hypothesis would answer on twitter. If Lets Go mons keep their size values even AFTER transferring to sword, then Joes tweet would be correct in that theyd be different sizes if SV allowed it

So it seems that the heights/weights are indeed kept in the pkhex data, and that the only the game format of the pokemon changes. This means that, if SV DOES have height scaling, your pokemon from LGPE will indeed scale to different sizes!

It's more practicality than anything. It would be a trivial matter to scale them up to their real sizes but the amount of testing you'd have to do in every play area means you might as well set an upper bound. It also really fucks with animations. Fire up Skyrim and set any monster's scale to 10 and see how whack shit gets when it tries to navigate literally anything.

PLA did not have wailord/joltik which are the mons the people cry about the most when they mention sizes, even if legends had wailord or if gen 9 has wailord, it wont take up the whole screen, because that is fucking retarded.

"Open world" can mean "wild area", so you get to move the camera and no transicions between areas but you do change to a separate area upon entering a battle.
