They don’t even need to do anything to make people forget it. It’s so mediocre even the fans don’t pay attention to it. Contrast the Johto starters who are actively forgotten and neglected by gamefreak and yet still have fans, because they don’t look like a clusterfuck of clashing design choices.

Chesnaught was made in the time when Gamefreak seriously hated grass so types until Rowlet proved to them that grass type can bring them money
